That the e-C4 is at the top end of the C4 pricing spectrum comes as little surprise, really, that is pretty much the industry norm presently. Starting at £30,995, the entry-level ‘Sense’ trim brings plenty of standard equipment including LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels and rear parking sensors. It also has a 10-inch touchscreen with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while dual-zone climate control is fitted as standard too. 

Citroen has also replaced the outgoing 'Shine Edition' with a 'C Series Edition' at £31,995. It builds on Sense trim with a head-up display, active cruise control and active blind spot detection. At the top of the range sits Shine Plus cars, starting from £34,995, and this trim remains the current best-selling e-C4 version according to Citroen.

Unsurprisingly, too, the e-C4’s pricing pitches it against its Peugeot e2008 relation, as well as against what’s likely to be its most formidable competitor, the VW ID.3. It’s worth noting that rivals like the Kia e-Niro and Hyundai Ioniq Electric are also around the same price, and, potentially, offer greater range. 

Running costs

With 2% BIK it’s a wise buy for a business buyer, electric is the way to go if you’re intent on spending as little on your company car. Retained values aren’t likely to be as strong as those for its key rivals, though in every other area the e-C4 is as similarly inexpensive an ownership proposition as its plug-in alternatives.
