This SUV version of the EQS, has all the luxury of the saloon in an SUV package. It sits firmly at the top of the range of electric vehicles produced by Mercedes, but is less efficient than the saloon.

Ginny Says

“If the EQS saloon is anything to go by, Mercedes will have a superb luxury SUV added to its growing electric range. Whether it is better than the BMW iX remains to be seen though, especially considering its more expensive price tag. Would it tempt you out of a Range Rover?”

Tom Says

“Not the smallest of cars at 5.2 metres long, the EQS SUV should offer luxury motivation for up to seven of your closest friends. Expect the same tech as the saloon, with AMG stuff following later. Posh competition for the BMW iX. Of course, my current score is tentative and might change on closer inspection...”

What is the Mercedes EQS SUV?

Quite simply, it's the SUV version of the EQS saloon – Mercedes' poshest electric car to date. It'll offer all of the saloon's luxury but in a more SUV like package.

What is the range of the EQS SUV?

Mercedes has so far revealed three versions of the SUV, with ranges between 315 and 410 miles. There will be an assortment of EQS SUVs with smaller and higher ranges and more performance.

What does EQ mean?

EQ is the designation Mercedes uses for its electric models. Since launching with one model in 2019 (the EQC), the range has grown to include various cars of different sizes. The letter that follows the 'EQ' denotes the size of the car – so the EQB is larger than the EQA, for example.

When will the EQS SUV launch?

The EQS SUV was officially revealed in April 2022 and is scheduled to go on sale by the end of the year.

How much will the EQS SUV cost?

No pricing details have been revealed by Mercedes-Benz yet, but judging by its positioning in the model range, we would expect prices to start at around £100,000. AMG and Maybach models will cost even more, with the latter well into the £200,000 price bracket.
