Mercedes-Benz, more commonly referred to simply as Mercedes, can trace its heritage back to 1886 when its founders created what’s considered to be the world’s first car. Mercedes is one of the world’s most premium brands and builds a wide range of best-selling models – the A-Class, C-Class, E-Class and S-Class are hugely popular in the UK. In recent years Mercedes has launched a number of electric models under its ‘EQ’ umbrella, including the EQA, EQB and EQC SUVs, and petrol and diesel plug-in hybrid versions of the C-Class, E-Class and GLE SUV. Mercedes-Benz also owns 50% of the pure-electric Smart city car brand.
