Volkswagen has opened order books for the ID. Buzz and opened its online configurator. Unlike the ID.3 and ID.4, the ID.Buzz will be sold through the VW Group’s Commercial Vehicle division with the passenger version set to be followed by a panel van called the ID. Buzz Cargo.

Both versions feature a 77kWh battery and a rear-mounted electric motor that develops 201bhp and 310Nm of torque. The launch models will have a WLTP range of 258 miles which should mean around 200 miles of real-world range. The Buzz also comes with 170kW DC rapid charging as standard.

The new ID. Buzz launches with three trim levels: Life, Style, and a 1st Edition. The entry-level Life starts at £57,115 and comes with LED headlights, heated windscreen, the Buzz box removable storage, Discover Pro navigation and infotainment with 10-inch colour touchscreen, and wireless charging. Style, priced from £61,915 adds VW’s’IQ. Light’ LED matrix headlights, adaptive interior ambient lighting and tailgate surround lighting.

The range-topping 1st Edition is priced at £62,995 and features 21-inch wheels, Discover Max navigation system with 12-inch colour touchscreen and comfort seats with memory function.

According to Volkswagen, customers who were able to place a deposit during a pre-booking window in June will now be invited to spec their car. Order books for the ID. Buzz Cargo van will open next month.
