Jeep has announced plans for its next generation of fully electric vehicles which it claims will make it “the leading electrified SUV brand in the world”.
The plan will see four all-electric SUVs in North America and Europe by the end of 2025, including a new all-electric Jeep Avenger which should launch in Europe early next year.
The Avenger will be positioned under the Jeep Renegade in the range and will be produced in Poland. With a targeted electric range of 249 miles, the new SUV will offer proper off-road ability, with two and four-wheel-drive version available.“The all-new Avenger will offer Jeep brand capability that is rightsized for the European market,” said Antonella Bruno, head of Jeep Europe at Stellantis, “This modern, fun and emotional SUV will appeal to a growing set of customers who are looking for a capable, compact, modern and all-electric Jeep brand alternative to the current players.”
The Avenger will go on sale early next year The Jeep Avenger will debut during the Paris Motor Show press day, on October 17, with reservations opening for customers that same day.
The US models are not yet confirmed for Europe, but are expected to follow the Avenger into British showrooms before 2030.The Recon is aimed at current Wrangler buyers and is more extreme than the other models. It is designed from the ground up to be electric and has under-body protection, tow hooks and aggressive off-road tyres. Removable doors and glass and a powered opening roof mean it you’ll be able to make the most of nature too.
The car has been designed with enough range to drive an off-road trail and still get home. This global SUV will be displayed to the public next year and production will start in 2024 in North America.
What do you Recon to the new electric off-roader? At the top of the range is the new Wagoneer S. This fully electric vehicle will continue to expand Jeep’s presence in the ‘premium SUV’ market to take on cars such as the Mercedes EQS SUV.
It has a target range of 400 miles on a single charge, 590bhp and a 0-60 mph time of around 3.5 seconds.
The all-new Wagoneer BEV will be revealed to the public next year and production will start in 2024 in North America.
The Wagoneer will rival posh electric 4x4s and have a 400 mile range The company has also announced it is to install a solar-powered network of off road charging stations at popular off road locations in the US. Called the 4xe Charging Network, the Jeep-branded, solar powered chargers will be built at or near the start of trails and will provide slow charges to adventurous drivers.
The solar chargers will give top ups to off road drivers at remote locations
