Train stations are on track to get 779 new charging points, meaning that 10% of all spaces in railway car parks managed by Network Rail will have chargers available by March 2024.

The fast-charging, 3 Phase 22kW AC units are already live at Leeds (56 points), Manchester Piccadilly (111 points) and Reading (160) stations and are being extended to Edinburgh Waverley (84), and Welwyn Garden City (41).

The contract is being managed by E.ON and will provide a total of 779 chargers on completion.

The new Compleo charging points are marked with green parking bays and passengers can pay via the APCOA Connect app. Current prices are 34p/kWh plus a 20p connection charge.

The rollout of the current 450 chargers enables users of Network Rail car parks to combine their parking and charging costs within a single fee. Payment is via APCOA’s ‘Connect’ App. The service is also available to Blue Badge holders as chargers have been installed in disabled parking bays.

Drivers can pay for charging and parking on the same app
