Toyota has revealed more pictures of its funky Compact Cruiser EV, arguably the most exciting of the all-electric models it has planned for the next few years.Despite still being in its prototype phase, rumours suggest the go-anywhere electric 4x4 will employ a dual-motor setup with all-wheel drive. 

Styling cues are drawn from the early generations of Toyota’s legendary Land Cruisers, and feature an unusual roof rack that extends into the tailgate, and protective cladding all-round.

At the end of last year, Toyota unveiled a total of 16 new all-electric concepts - including the Compact Cruiser - that it promised would be put into production by 2030 between itself and its sister company, Lexus. 

One of those, the Toyota Bz4X, is already available, while the Lexus RZ 450e will be released later on this year.
