Fed up with the rising costs of electric vehicles? Well, here’s one that is going DOWN in price. SEAT’s most affordable electric vehicle has just got cheaper thanks to an £800 reduction on the brand’s MO eScooter. Aimed at motorists and riders who want to slash their commuting costs, the eScooter 125 is available from £4,999 throughout August.
Capable of 59mph and with a range of 85 miles (WMTC), the MO eScooter comes with a removable 5.6kWh battery for easy charging at home or at the rider’s place of work. The battery casing features built-in wheels and a handle, which allows owners to pull the pack to their nearest three-pin socket for a top-up. A full charge takes between six and eight hours on a standard UK domestic socket. In terms of recharging cost, customers with cheap rate electricity rates will be able to fully recharge the MO eScooter for less than 50p.
Integrated into the MÓ’s rear wheel is a 12bhp (9kW) electric motor that offers a similar power output to a 125cc motorcycle or scooter. The motor produces 240Nm of torque, which provides a top speed of up to 59mph and a 0-31mph acceleration time of only 3.9 seconds. It also benefits from a Combined Braking System (CBS), alongside regenerative braking for improved range. Riders can choose between three driving modes: City, Sport and Eco, as well as a reverse gear to make manoeuvring simpler.
The purchase price of £4,999 (which is valid until the end of August) includes the Government Plug-in grant, which unlike the car grant, is still available. SEAT also offers the MO eScooter on a 48-month PCP scheme, which allows buyers to ride away with a £99 deposit and monthly repayments of £79.40. The eScooter comes with a two year warranty and a four year warranty on the battery.
To ride one in the UK, owners will need to hold one of the following licences:
A1 (Scooter under 11kw)*
A2 (11kw to 35kw scooter)
B (3-years’ of experience driving a scooter up to 11kw)
* Applicable to mopeds & scooters that are 49cc and limited to 31mph.
