Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo is less Cross

Porsche has revealed a third body style for its all-electric Taycan - the Sport Turismo. The new car has the 'estate' like hatchback of the Taycan Cross Turismo but loses the SUV-style cladding, raised ride height and off-road drive mode settings.

The company has also introduced a new trim level, called GTS, which it claims is the 'sweet spot' in the range, just below the bonkers Turbo version.

Available as the standard saloon or more practical new Sport Turismo, the GTS comes with the 93.4 kWh Performance Battery Plus which has 590bhp of overboost power and can power from 0 to 62 mph in just 3.7 seconds,. With a range of up to 312 miles, the four-wheel drive GTS model has an 'efficient drivetrain control strategy', which basically uses clever software to extend the range.

Buyers choosing the Sport Turismo will get a sportier feel than in the raised Cross Turismo too. Adaptive air suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), is tuned to the GTS to give a dynamic feel. Porsche has also played around with the sound to give the GTS a more distinctive sounding character.

Both the exterior and interior feature characteristic GTS styling cues, with black or dark highlights outside, such as the front apron, the bases of the exterior mirrors and the side window trims.

Numerous black Race-Tex coverings to the interior underscore the elegant, sporting ambience, contrasting with the standard brushed aluminium interior package with black anodised finish.

A panoramic roof that responds to the touch of a finger to change from clear to opaque has been added as a new option for the Taycan GTS.

On sale now, the Taycan GTS will set you back £104,190, while the GTS Sport Turismo is £104,990. Both models are available to order now, and first cars will arrive in the spring of 2022.
