Polestar has confirmed that it will put its stunning O2 concept car into production in 2026. Set to be badged Polestar 6, the striking two-seater roadster is officially available to pre-order now with a price tag of around £166,000.
Revealed in Los Angeles in March as the Polestar O₂ – and checked out by our own Tomi – the production version will feature a folding hard-top and will be built on an all-new bonded aluminium platform. Developed in-house, the Polestar 6 will also feature the high-performance, 800-Volt electric architecture already confirmed for Polestar 5. In terms of power output, the Polestar 6 will develop 884 bhp and 900 Nm from a dual motor powertrain and has a targeted 0-62mph sprint time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 155mph. Polestar has yet to reveal any information relating to battery size or predicted range.
To celebrate the launch, 500 numbered units of a special ‘LA Concept’ version, the ‘Polestar 6 LA Concept edition’, are set to be the first models off the line. The first examples will feature a unique ‘Sky’ blue exterior, light leather interior and the same 21-inch wheels seen on the original Polestar O₂ concept.
