Hyundai has launched its first new ‘Electrified’ store in the UK, transforming its innovative Bluewater outlet into a retail space that focusses purely on electric and hybrid cars. First opened in 2014, the Kent shopping complex annually attracts up to 28 million visitors and is one of Europe’s largest retail hubs.
The Hyundai store is operated by dealer group Ancaster, and has been completely refurbished as part of its transformation into an Electrified Store. The location’s ‘Electrified Wall’, features a fully functioning home charger unit while a large touchscreen provides easy-to-access information and engaging content on each of Hyundai’s fully electric models.
Updated store will be home to models including the new IONIQ 5
A ‘Powertrain Wall’, allows shoppers to explore which electrified powertrain might fit their lifestyle; fully electric, plug-in hybrid, hybrid or even hydrogen fuel cell. A third ‘Connectivity Wall’ provides interactive information on Hyundai’s infotainment technology, including the Bluelink app, which allows drivers to monitor their charge, plan routes and discover last mile navigation from their mobile device.
A demonstrator fleet featuring all Hyundai’s electrified models is located in a dedicated Experience Centre in the car park. Hyundai will instal a number of charging points to demonstrate the recharging process to potential owners.
