The Skoda Superb iV only went on sale towards the end of 2019, so the majority of used examples are 69-registration ex-dealer demonstrators or pre-registered cars. Don’t be put off by these as they have next to no mileage on them (£28,000 cars will have less than 2,000 miles on the clock, for example), and can be around £5,000 cheaper than the list price. For some people, a brand new car is all they want and they won’t entertain the idea of buying a used car, even if it has never left the dealer’s forecourt. That’s fine but just be prepared to pay extra for that mentality.  

If you can’t afford the £28-odd-thousand for an iV but really want a Superb, you’ll have to look at a used 1.6 TDI Greenline as that was the next eco-friendly Superb offered. These are around the £15,000 mark and offer 70-odd MPG and CO2 emissions of 102g/km. But the fact that they offer no electric hybrid drive means they’re a poor substitute for an iV.
