“Ok, so you can attach the ‘e-Hybrid’ tag to most Cayennes now, stretching from the base (456bhp/ 0-62mph in 5 seconds) to the Turbo S (676bhp and 62mph in 3.8) and the various Coupes. But they only manage around 20 miles of e-range, and they’re fast, but expensive. ”

Nicki Says

“There's so much to love about the Cayenne and the combination of electric and petrol power means you can cruise through city traffic without running the engine and then enjoy all the driving enjoyment you'd expect when out on the open road. But you have to pay through the nose for it!”

Previous generation hybrid Cayennes are now temptingly cheap.

You’ll be looking at around £60,000 for a used Cayenne E-Hybrid and for that it’ll likely be a 2018 car with around 30,000 miles on the clock, which just goes to show how well the E-Hybrid holds to its value. The more powerful Turbo S kicks in at around £110,000 for a year-old car with only a couple of thousand miles on the clock, which seems like decent value compared to the brand new list price.

However, for some, that will still be a huge chunk of money to spend. There is the option to go for the earlier S E-Hybrid which was available on the previous generation Cayenne. Its smaller battery yields a slightly smaller range and it’s a good alternative, especially with prices as low as £31,500 for a 2014 car with 50,000 miles on the clock. The engine and motor combination isn’t as sophisticated as the newer model but the potential tax benefits are tempting.
