Pricing
Vauxhall has tried to simplify its trim structure across all of its models, not just the Grandland, to make life easier for the customer both in the showroom and buying online. The Grandland range comes in three trim levels with the Hybrid-e only coming in two and forgoing the entry-level trim. That means it's well equipped and, compared to the Grandland X, reasonably well priced.
The GS-Line starts at £33,820 with PCP finance deals from Vauxhall starting at £374.70 per month. The Ultimate does look a tad pricey at £37,375 (Vauxhall PCP deals start at £394.37 per month) so the GS-Line would be our pick.
Running costs
If you use the Grandland Hybrid-e in the way it is intended and plug in regularly for short journeys, it will reward you with big savings on your fuel bill. However if you are a high-mileage company car driver and just using the hybrid route as a tax dodge, you’ll find the fuel consumption over long distances to be a bit of a shock compared to a diesel.
The company car tax benefits might well be compelling though – the Grandland Hybrid-e has very competitive tax rates at 12% (2022-25).
For private buyers the biggest expense will be depreciation though, thanks to the high initial cost and the company’s reputation for discounting in recent years.
