Tom Says

“Ok, so you can attach the ‘e-Hybrid’ tag to most Cayennes now, stretching from the base (456bhp/ 0-62mph in 5 seconds) to the Turbo S (676bhp and 62mph in 3.8) and the various Coupes. But they only manage around 20 miles of e-range, and they’re fast, but expensive. ”

Nicki Says

“There's so much to love about the Cayenne and the combination of electric and petrol power means you can cruise through city traffic without running the engine and then enjoy all the driving enjoyment you'd expect when out on the open road. But you have to pay through the nose for it!”

Porsche Cayenne Hybrid

Is the Porsche Cayenne a plug-in hybrid?

The Cayenne is available in a range of different models, two of which are plug-in hybrids. There’s the standard E-Hybrid and the more powerful Turbo S E-Hybrid.

How does the Porsche Cayenne hybrid work?

Just like any other plug-in hybrid. So there’s the petrol engine (a 3.0-litre V6 in the E-Hybrid and a 4.0-litre V8 in the Turbo S E-Hybrid), an electric motor and a battery. The car can travel with just the engine, the electric motor or using a combination of both.

How long does the Cayenne plug-in battery last?

Porsche gives an eight-year warranty for the battery, so if anything goes wrong in that time it’s covered by Porsche. There have been no stories of Porsche batteries failing, though.

Does Porsche make hybrids?

Yes, and the Cayenne is just one of them. Porsche also makes plug-in hybrid versions of the Panamera hatchback and the Cayenne Coupe.
