Is the Polestar 1 a Volvo?
Well yes, but only in the same way that a Bentley is a Volkswagen. They are owned by the same company and share a lot of bits, but you have to delve deep to find a Volvo logo on the 1. They're not sold at Volvo dealers either.
Is the Polestar 1 electric?
It's a plug in hybrid, with a big 70 mile range on electric only.
How long does it take to charge a Polestar 1?
Good question - we can't find the info anywhere, even in the owner's manual. So we will make an educated guess. Using a home 7kW wallbox it'll take about 6 hours and 15 minutes. A three-pin plugged 'granny' charger will take 16 hours. It can also take a 50kW CCS rapid charge, taking about 30 minutes to get to 80%.
How big is the battery in a Polestar 1?
It's 35kWh, which is huge for a hybrid.
Is the Polestar 1 smaller than the Polestar 2?
No, the 1 is the flagship and is therefore pretty huge. But don't expect much practicality - the boot is tiny.
Can I get a Polestar 1 with right hand drive?
Unfortunately not. It will only ever be made with left hand drive and there will not be more than 1,500 built. They're running out too, so hurry up if you want one.
Is the Polestar 1 a good company car?
This is quite interesting for fact fans. The Polestar 1 actually has the lowest tax rate of any plug-in hybrid car sold in the UK, at 4% for the 21-22 tax year. That means you could pay less tax for the privilege of driving a Polestar 1 than you would for a Ford Focus. But pure electric cars like the Porsche Taycan cost even less, at just 1%.
