Tom Says

“The Leaf is a good bet if you find the thought of an electric car a bit daunting. It’s just a hatchback. A hatchback that looks like it’s been hit several times with a flat shovel, granted, but it’s still very user-friendly. I think you should go for mid-range Acenta to get the best value for money.”

Ginny Says

“Nissan was first to launch a mainstream electric car and all their knowledge has gone into this latest model. It’s an easy car to live with and makes owning an EV feel like a mainstream choice. But there are now newer rivals which make it seem as though autumn has arrived for the Leaf.”

Is the Nissan Leaf a good car?

The Leaf is a proper, practical family car which is 100% electric. It’s good to drive too and is a best seller across the world. It is one of our favourites.

Should I buy a second hand Nissan Leaf?

If you are in the market for a used electric car, the Leaf is a great choice simply because there are so many available. It means prices are reasonable and you are likely to find one that suits your taste and budget. Watch out video guide to buying one here.

Is the Nissan Leaf reliable?

The Leaf has been on sale for nearly a decade now, and there have been very few problems reported. It’s certainly more reliable than a petrol or diesel car of the same age.

How long is the battery warranty on a Nissan Leaf?

New Nissan Leafs have a battery warranty that covers it for eight years or 100,000 miles against defects or degradation of more than 25% of the original capacity. Older models are only covered for five years and 60,000 miles.

How much does it cost to charge a Nissan Leaf?

If you are charging at home and paying the UK average rate of 14p/kWh for your electricity, a Nissan Leaf will cost between £5 and £8 for a full charge, depending on the size of the battery in your car.
