Priced from £35,000 (estimated)

The bad news is that this electric version of the MINI Convertible is just a one off. The good news is that there will be a drop top version of the all new model due in 2024.

Nicki Says

“Us Brits love our drop tops, despite the iffy weather. It would be a great shame if the convertible was killed off by the move to electric, so it's good to see MINI is keeping the flag flying.”

Ginny Says

“I love the idea that some engineers made this car out of parts lying around to prove the concept of an electric convertible could work. Lets hope the production car is just as good to drive.”

Got questions? We've put together the most frequently-asked topics below. If there's something we haven't answered here or in the review then let us know on our contact page

Is there an electric version of the MINI Electric?

Not yet - this car we have tried is a one-off prototype. But there will be a convertible version of the all new MINI in the summer of 2024.

Is the MINI Electric Convertible worth waiting for?

The current MINI Electric is one of our favourites, but it does have a limited range. The new model will go much further between charges and be faster too.

Are there any other electric convertibles?

There aren't many at the moment. The Fiat 500 is now your only choice since the the Smart EQ Fortwo was put out to pasture.

What is the range of the 2024 MINI Electric?

The technical details haven't been released in full, but we reckon between 190 miles for the smaller battery and 250 miles for the bigger power pack.

Ho much will the new MINI Convertible cost?

No official prices have been announced, but expect a premium of around £3,500 over the hatch version - so the cheapest model will be around £35,000
