Tom Says

“A new dawn for Lotus, and a car that’s supposed to bring a little more mainstream success. If anyone can do an electric SUV in a considered way, it’s the people from Lotus.”

Ginny Says

“It sounds strange to say that a car which will cost £100,000 is good value, but other SUVs with these sort of looks and performance cost much, much more. ”

Got questions? We've put together the most frequently-asked topics below. If there's something we haven't answered here or in the review then let us know on our contact page

When will the Lotus Eletre be launched?

Expect it to be seen in the spring of 2023.

How fast is the Lotus Eletre?

Fast. The 0-60 time will be less than three seconds and it has a top speed of 161 mph

Why is the Eletre being built in China?

Lotus is now owned by a Chinese company - Geely - and it builds cars where it is most cost effective. It also owns Polestar, which already builds electric cars in China.

How has the Eletre been made so efficient?

There is a whole lot of clever technology such as actively aerodynamics and weight saving materials. But we will have to wait to test the claimed figures in the real world.

How big is the Lotus Eletre?

It's a big car. Although it is the same height as a Nissan Qashqai, it is 5,103mm long and 2,231mm wide with mirrors - that's more than a Range Rover.
