Ginny Says

“I'll admit I wasn't hugely impressed when I first saw this car and some figures are a little off the pace still. But Kia has improved in most of the places that matter and created a really impressive package. ”

Tom Says

“Like Ginny, I was disappointed when I looked down the spec sheet, but after spending some time on the road I think the reborn Niro EV is a car which will just slot perfectly into the lives of many families. ”

When does the new Kia Niro EV arrive in the UK?

We're expecting the Kia Niro EV to arrive in UK showrooms later this summer.

Will the new Kia Niro EV be more expensive?

Given the general increase in equipment and space, a price rise seemed inevitable, but Kia has added just £50 compared to the equivalent old models. The entry-level 39kWh model disappears though.

Will the new Kia Niro still be available with a 39kWh battery?

From launch, no. Although Kia hasn't officially confirmed that the small battery Niro has been dropped, low demand for the model coupled with the market shift towards larger batteries means that we may well have seen the last of the 39kWh Niro.

How long does it take to charge the Kia Niro EV?

The Niro EV can be charged at a wallbox charger with a Type 2 cable or at a fast-charger using a CCS cable. Plug in at home from a 7kW wallbox and a full charge will take nine hours hours, while a 0-80% top-up from a fast-charger at a supermarket car park will take 43 minutes.

What are the main improvements on the new Kia Niro EV?

The new Niro is built on a new set of underpinnings that should deliver a smoother drive. There's also more space inside and some more tech. in addition to a larger boot, the Niro EV also gains a frunk for the first time.
