Ford has come a long way since making the world’s first car of the people, the Model T Ford, and has built some of the most loved cars across the globe. In the UK, Ford regularly leads the sales charts with its Fiesta supermini, but has so far lagged behind its competitors when it comes to electric cars. Its Kuga plug-in hybrid is a great SUV but it’s the Mustang Mach-E which is its current star – it’s one of our favourite electric SUVs on sale. Thanks to a new partnership with Volkswagen, Ford will be releasing a large number of electric between now and 2030 based on the German firm’s MEB electric platform which is currently used for the VW ID.3 and Skoda Enyaq iV, among others.
