It might use the same crucial components as the Hyundai IONIQ5, but the Kia is sleeker, sportier, and more efficient. We love it.

Ginny Says

“Don't underestimate the importance of the Kia EV6. While rivals might be able to match its performance, efficiency, space and driving dynamics, nothing in this price range can get close to its recharging speeds. That will overshadow everything else when you are on a journey and in a hurry. ”

Nicki Says

“I can see why the EV6 is one of the most researched cars on Electrifying.com - the figures and tech list all add up to make is a compelling choice, even if the prices raise an eyebrow. I might be tempted to plump for the more interesting looks, affordable prices and relaxing drive of the Hyundai IONIQ5 though. ”

The cheapest EV6 is £40,895. The current range topper is the £51,895 GT-Line S

Does the EV6 replace the Kia eNiro?

No - it is a bigger (and more expensive) car. The eNiro will continue for now, but will be replaced eventually by another EV model number.

What is the range of the EV6?

The UK only gets the bigger 77.4kWh battery, which give official range figures of between 314- 328 miles depending on the model and motors.

Why does the Kia EV6 have better range than the Hyundai IONIQ 5?

That's a question for the engineers, but it is certainly more aerodynamic and the battery is slightly larger too.

How long does it take to charge the Kia EV6?

Along with the Hyundai IONIQ5, the EV6 is the first mainstream electric car to get an 800V charger – previously this tech was reserved for the Porsche Taycan. It means that if you plug it into a 350kW charging point it'll take just 18 minutes to top up to 80%, or 60 miles' worth of charge in just 5 minutes.
